Tour description
Our dive boat leaves the harbour of Santa Margherita Ligure every Monday and Thursday at 2:30 pm for a guided snorkeling tour in the Portofino National Marine Park.
In calm sea conditions, the boat stops first in the enchanting San Fruttuoso bay to allow our guests to admire the famous statue of Christ of the Abyss.
After a brief look at the ancient monastery from the sea, we head for one of the many submerged reefs, reachable only by authorized boat tour operators, to observe a wide variety of flora and fauna typical of the Mediterranean Sea.

The water temperature is around 18°C at the beginning of May to reach peaks of 26°-27°C between the end of August and the beginning of September. We provide appropriate thermal protection wetsuits included in the price.
The visibility on the surface is very variable because it is affected by waves, currents and rains. Normally in summer the average visibility is about 15-20 meters, but it can drop to less than 10 meters in certain occasions or it can reach 25 meters in special weather conditions.
Sometimes the weather makes it impossible to get to the Christ of the Abyss and other outer snorkeling sites. When this happens, we head to other prime Portofino snorkeling destinations away from rough seas. We leave these decision in the Captain’s competent hands.
Rain is NOT considered a factor for tour cancellation.
To participate in our snorkeling excursions you need to know how to swim and be in good physical shape.
We will make your Portofino snorkeling adventure comfortable, exciting, and unforgettable aboard our luxury dive boat, outfitted with a large awning to protect from sun and rain, freshwater shower and toilette. You will be able to move freely on the wide deck without worrying about falling over obstructions or stubbing your toes. The entry and exit from the water is very convenient thanks to an ergonomic and anti-slip ladder.

BOOKING CANCELLATION
Securing a reservation with your payment means you accept the terms and conditions of our Cancellation Policy below:
- Cancellation received with more than 14 days notice: full refund less online payment provider fee (4,5% max).
- Cancellations made between 14 days and 2 days (48 hours) from check-in date will receive a 50% refund of the amount paid or a voucher of 100% the amount paid valid for one year from cancellation date.
- Cancellations made less than 48 hours from the check-in time will forfeit the amount paid.
- "No-show" will forfeit the amount paid.
- In the unfortunate event that boat trips are cancelled due to weather conditions or other unforeseeable changes caused by Portofino Divers, we will refund 100% of the amount paid for the cancelled tours.
