Description

Discover the pleasant feeling to dive warm and dry, get the many advantages of using a dry suit.
During this course our instructor will introduce you to the different types of drysuits and undersuits, then you will learn the procedures for an easy, comfortable and safe use of the dry suit.

Through this two-day experience, which includes two training dives and one experience dive, you will acquire all the necessary skills for safe and easy drysuit handling in order to get the most enjoyment out of your next dry dives.

Our PADI Dry Suit Diver course is held over two days. It includes approximately 10 hours of instruction divided as follows:

  • Knowledge Development
    Day 1 09:00 - 12:00
    Your instructor introduces you to dry suit features and basic procedures for easy and safe use

  • Confined Water Dive
    Day 1 13:00 - 16:00
    Two training dives from shore

  • Open Water Dives
    Day 2 09:30 - 12:30
    One experience dive from the boat

Requirements

Participants must:

  • be certified Open Water Diver or equivalent
  • be in good mental and physical fitness to dive (medical certificate NOT required);
  • own or rent a proper drysuit and undersuit.

We recommend to check with your doctor, on an annual basis, that you are in good medical fitness to dive. The purpose of the Diving Medical Questionnaire is to find out if you need to be examined by a physician before participating in a dive trip or in a diving course. If there is a positive answer on the questionnaire you should participate in scuba diving activities only if you are signed off by a physician to be fit to dive. Although not required, divers with more than 50 years are advised to bring the questionnaire signed by their doctor, or a medical certificate of good health, not older than a year.

What To Bring

Diving equipment

Mask, fins, bcd, regulators, dive computer.

If you do not have your own equipment, you can rent it from us.

Thermal base layers and underwear

Ideally a light weight long-sleeve shirt in wool or synthetic fabric to be worn on the skin and a thick pair of socks. In the colder months, consider adding a medium weight layer to wear between the light base layer and the undersuit. Generally refer to the type of clothing that is commonly used for skiing. No cotton. No zippers.

Cancellation Policy

Securing a reservation with your payment means you accept the terms and conditions of our Cancellation Policy below:

  • Cancellation received with more than 14 days notice: full refund less online payment provider fee (max.4,5%).
  • Cancellation received between 14 and 2 days before the scheduled check-in time: 50% refund of the amount paid or full refund (100%) in the form of a diving voucher valid for one year.
  • Cancellation received less than 48 hours before the scheduled check-in time or no-show: no-refunds.
  • In the unfortunate event that boat tours and scuba diving activities are cancelled due to adverse weather conditions or other unforeseeable changes caused by Portofino Divers: full refund (100%) of the amount paid for the cancelled services.

The PADI e-Learning fees of €165 for the purchase of teaching materials and certification processing, is non-refundable under any circumstances and will not be refunded in case of course cancellation. The training materials are assigned to the student and can be used in the future at any PADI Center.
