Portofino Divers offers those with technical certifications the opportunity to relive the adventures of the diving pioneers, discovering dive sites known only to a few, where the promontory still appears in its full splendour as it did to the early explorers : sea fans, coral, sponges, crustaceans.. all in exceptional numbers and size.
Wreck lovers will be lost for choice as there are more than ten sunken ships resting at depths of between 40 and 90 metres that we dive regularly and over the years we have become experts in the stories and mysteries guarded by them.
We are constantly on the lookout for new diving points and sometimes we organise expeditions to search for new wrecks or seabeds to explore.
All dives are organised with the appropriate support and safety systems, in line with the specific circumstances and the needs of the team. We offer complete assistance.
The steel twin tanks with central isolator, the aluminium cylinders needed as bottom stages and deco tanks are available for hire free of charge, which not only offers great savings in terms of cost but also considerably improves travelling conditions.
We refill all standard GUE mixes and if required we can supply any combination of diving breathing gases composed of oxygen, helium and nitrogen. The mixes are charged according to the actual use, that is to say the amount consumed.
Special equipment hire packages mean that part or all of the diving equipment needed can be obtained at a low cost, which is one of the reasons why Portofino Divers is an excellent solution for courses, as instructors and students will find all of the components required for setting up DIR diving equipment at their disposal.
Finally, please note that Portofino Divers adheres to the standards of the leading training agencies, which currently concur in limiting the use of compressed air to a depth of 30 metres, whereas for all dives with a maximum depth exceeding this limit, the use of trimix is mandatory.
Participants are required to have the appropriate certification for the type of dive, and in addition there must be at least one instructor or dive leader, with current renewed status and professional liability insurance, for every three divers; if this requirement is not met we can provide the necessary instructors, who will be responsible for the planning of the dive and reserve the right to evaluate the skill level of the participants.
