Dive Center in Santa Margherita Ligure - Italy

The dive center is located in Santa Margherita Ligure, a typical village in the Portofino peninsula, on the beautiful eastern coast of Liguria region which runs from the French Riviera down to the Cinque Terre. This province, which is located about 30 km from Genoa, and only a couple of hours from Milan, Pisa, Torino and Nice, is surrounded by hills, covered with Mediterranean foliage, on which villages and gardens can be found that allow stunning views of the Gulf of Tigullio which surrounds the town of Portofino.

The very pretty port is used for mooring luxurious motor boats next to traditional fishing boats. It is also the location for important maritime sports activities, such as sailing, rowing and scuba diving, and of social events such as the hosting of great international regattas.

Santa boasts a variety of beaches with something for everyone; sand, stone and pebble, picturesque coves and welcoming private bathing areas. Many hotels have their own private beach area and swimming pool. There are also free public beaches and public beaches where you can hire deckchairs, sun beds and umbrellas. 

How to get there

By plane

The nearest airport is the Cristoforo Colombo airport in Genoa, which is 35 km from Santa Margherita and can be easily reached via the motorway. From the tollbooth at the airport, take the A10 eastbound and then the A12 up to the Rapallo toll. Arrival and departure times can be found on the airport website.

By car/coach

The nearest toll is at Rapallo (on the A12 between Genoa and La Spezia), which is about 5km away from the centre of Santa Margherita. Following the signs to Santa Margherita and Portofino, continue through the centre of Rapallo and then along the coastal road which passes through San Michele di Pagana.

By train

Santa Margherita station is situated on the Genoa to La Spezia line. Many local and long distance trains run on this line trains and stop at the station. All of the trains scheduled to stop at Santa Margherita can be found on the Trenitalia website.
